The UK Monster Truck Nationals is Roaring into Santa Pod Raceway This August

The UK Monster Truck Nationals is heading back to Santa Pod Raceway this summer, and it’s exactly the kind of loud, larger-than-life day out that turns even the most reluctant “we’re not doing anything today” child into an instant convert. Here’s everything you need to know before you book.

When and where

The main event takes place on Sunday 23 August 2026 at Santa Pod Raceway in Podington, near Wellingborough.

What’s on

Expect head-to-head monster truck racing and freestyle action, including the crowd-pulling bus jumps. There’s also the Kangaroo Kid ATV Stunt Show, drag racing on Santa Pod’s famous strip, and an appearance from world record holding stunt driver Terry Grant. If your kids fancy getting behind the wheel themselves, there are passenger rides in a full-size monster truck and replica mini monster trucks for children to drive (these aren’t included in the ticket price, so budget a little extra if that’s a must-do).

Those staying for the Festival Weekend can also enjoy LAW Wrestling, live music, DJs and a funfair as part of the camping package.

Good to know for families

The event is designed with families in mind, and the organisers note there are designated family areas and quieter zones if the noise gets a bit much for littler ones. There’s an elevated viewing platform and disabled parking for badge holders, plus disabled toilet facilities near the arena. Food and drink vendors operate throughout the grounds, and free water stations are dotted around too. The show runs for eight hours, so it’s worth arriving early to explore the attractions before the main arena action gets going. No glass bottles or pets are allowed on site.
