The Beach Is Back in Wellingborough This August (And It’s Completely Free)

Here’s a bit of good news — you don’t need to book a flight or even leave Wellingborough to give them a taste of the seaside this summer, because The Beach is coming back to the town centre for the whole of August!

This is one I know a lot of Northants Families followers look forward to every year, so I wanted to get the details up for you as early as possible so you can start planning.

What Is The Beach?

The Beach is back in Wellingborough this August! Join in at Wellingborough town centre for a whole month of seaside fun — right on your doorstep. There will be sand to play in, free activities, and something for everyone to enjoy throughout August.

It kicks off with an Opening Day Beach Party, complete with a DJ, games, competitions and refreshments, so that’s a great one to head along to if you can make it.

The Details

  • Dates: 1st – 31st August 2026 (every day throughout the month)
  • Location: Wellingborough Town Centre, Orient Way
  • Time: 10am – 4pm each day
  • Cost: Free
  • Opening Day extras: DJ, games, competitions and refreshments
  • Activities throughout the month include: balloon modelling, facepainting, a magician, puppet show, rhyme time, beach games, character appearances, a vintage bus display and a Mustang car display

As always with these town centre events, it’s worth following Wellingborough Town Council on Facebook in the run up, as this is where they’ll confirm which activities are on which days.

Make a Day of It

Wellingborough town centre has plenty nearby to help you stretch this into a full day out.
