Half term is creeping up fast, and if you’re after something suitably autumnal to fill a day with, Castle Ashby Gardens has confirmed its Pumpkin Trail is back for another year. Running from Saturday 24th October right through to Sunday 1st November, it covers the whole of half term plus the weekends either side, so there’s a decent window to fit it in around everything else.

The trail runs from Saturday 24th October to Sunday 1st November 2026. That means it lines up neatly with October half term for schools across Northamptonshire, with a few extra days either side if you’d rather avoid the busiest ones.

What to expect

Castle Ashby’s gardens make a gorgeous backdrop for a pumpkin trail at the best of times, with the parkland, arboretum and formal gardens all part of the grounds. Full details of this year’s trail hadn’t been published beyond the ticket page at the time of writing, but past visitors have described it as a gentle, well organised trail that works particularly well for younger children, so it’s one worth keeping an eye on for updates closer to the time.

General garden admission, which includes parking, is priced at Adult (16+) £11.50, Child (age 3-15) £5.50 and Family (2 adults + 2 children) £28.00, with under-3s going free, plus a small booking fee. It wasn’t clear from the ticket page whether the Pumpkin Trail is included in this or has its own separate cost, so it’s worth checking this when you book your slot.

Castle Ashby Gardens is at Castle Ashby, Northampton, NN7 1LF. Parking is included with your ticket, and the Garden Kitchen is on site if you fancy a coffee and cake to round off the visit.
