Minecraft Meet the Mobs is Coming to Alton Towers This Summer
Alton Towers has just announced a brand new event for summer 2026 that is going to make a lot of children very, very happy — and honestly, it sounds like a brilliant excuse for a big family day out. Whether you have been meaning to make a trip to Alton Towers for ages or you are looking for something extra special to add to your summer plans, this is the kind of thing that makes the summer holidays feel genuinely exciting. Read on for everything you need to know.
Minecraft Meet the Mobs at Alton Towers Resort
For the very first time, Alton Towers Resort is bringing the world of Minecraft to life on-park in an exclusive one-time event for 2026. Running from 18 July to 28 August 2026, the brand new ‘Minecraft Meet the Mobs’ pop-up event will be taking over the park for the whole of the summer holidays.
The centrepiece of the event is the Baby Mob Trail — the first of its kind in the UK — where guests can meet all-new ‘baby Mobs’ carefully positioned in six Minecraft-inspired scenes around the park. From 18 July to 28 August, families can:
- Meet Minecraft Mobs in real life through in-park costume character appearances
- Complete the Minecraft Meet the Mobs trail and stamp their game card to unlock a special digital surprise on completion
- Experience the fun of Minecraft in real life at Alton Towers Resort, fully included with standard park admission
Meet the Characters
Fans can capture photos up close with official Mob costume characters including the Iron Golem, Chicken Jockey and Creeper, plus puppets featuring yellow axolotls, baby pandas, pigs, goats, chicks, wolf pups and more. The Minecraft Hub will also have a full programme of activities on offer, so there is plenty to keep everyone busy throughout the day.
Unlock an Exclusive In-Game Reward
Here is a detail that will get any young gamer very excited: those who complete the Minecraft Meet the Mobs trail activity will earn an exclusive Minecraft downloadable in-game reward, exclusively available to unlock in the UK at Alton Towers Resort. That is a pretty brilliant added incentive to get around the whole trail.
Minecraft-Themed Food and Merchandise
The whole family can fully immerse themselves in the world of Minecraft with themed snack stands serving Minecraft-inspired TNT popcorn and ice lollies available for purchase. Exclusive new Minecraft merchandise will also be available for guests to pick up throughout the event, offering a special keepsake to remember the day.
Tickets and How to Book
The Minecraft Meet the Mobs event is included with the standard price of park admission — there is no extra charge on top of your ticket. Tickets are available from £35 per person when booked in advance online (on-the-day prices are significantly higher, so it really does pay to book ahead). Children under 90cm tall go free.
Alton Towers Resort is located in Staffordshire (ST10 4DB), roughly an hour and a half’s drive from Northampton, which makes it very doable as a day trip if you want to make a full summer holiday adventure of it. You can book your tickets and find out more at altontowers.com.
