Visit in the Easter holidays

Knebworth House, Gardens, Park, the Adventure Playground and the Dinosaur Trail are open daily for the school Easter holidays from Saturday 28 March to Sunday 12 April.

This is such a good time to go because everything is springy and colourful. Do the Dinosaur Trail first while energy is high, then finish at the adventure playground to really let them burn it off.

    Easter ‘Signs of Spring’ Trail

Over the Easter bank holiday weekend, Friday 3 April to Monday 6 April, there’s an Easter ‘Signs of Spring’ Trail where children can become nature detectives and spot signs of spring around the gardens.

The trail sheet is aimed at children aged 3 to 8, and costs £2 per child (general admission is separate).

    Autism friendly early openings

If your family would benefit from a calmer visit, Knebworth has autism friendly early opening days where the Gardens, Park, Adventure Playground and Dinosaur Trail open at 8:30am.

Dates mentioned for 2026 include Thursday 2 April and Wednesday 27 May.

You just book a normal Gardens and Park admission ticket for that date.

    Hertfordshire Garden Show

If you’ve got older kids who can tolerate a bit of browsing, or you just want a lovely day out for you, the Hertfordshire Garden Show runs from Saturday 2 May to Monday 4 May at Knebworth.

Tickets include access to Knebworth Gardens and Park, so you can easily mix it with the playground and Dinosaur Trail.

      Father’s Day Medieval Jousting

On Father’s Day, Sunday 21 June, you can watch Medieval Jousting displays at 12pm and 2.30pm.

        • Entry to the Park, Gardens, Adventure Playground and Dinosaur Trail on all open days (March to September 2026)
        • Free entry to selected events including the Easter Trail, Hertfordshire Garden Show, Medieval Jousting, Classic Motor Show and All About Dogs Show
        • 10% off refreshments in the Garden Terrace Tea Room

A few practical tips for a smoother day

        • Pre book online for the cheaper price.
        • Plan on layers. The park can feel chilly even on sunny days.
        • Do Dinosaur Trail plus playground. That combo tends to be the big win for kids.
        • If you’re taking a dog, note that dogs are allowed in Knebworth Park only, not in the house, gardens, Dinosaur Trail, or Fort Knebworth.
