Free Radio Promotion for Northampton Groups

If you run or help out with a toddler group, PTA, Scout group, sports club or any other voluntary group in Northampton, this is one to know about, because you could get your activities and events promoted on local radio completely free.

Northampton-based voluntary and non-profit organisations are set to benefit from another 12 months of free promotion on NLive Radio, thanks to renewed sponsorship of the station’s Community Noticeboard by Northampton Town Council.

The Community Noticeboard gives local groups the opportunity to promote their projects, services, activities and events through a free 30-second message, which is broadcast several times a day over a six-week period. Groups can either record their own message or have their words read out by one of NLive Radio’s volunteers.

The initiative has already proved popular over the past 12 months, with almost 40 messages submitted by 22 different organisations. These have included Age UK Northamptonshire, Cynthia Spencer Hospice Charity, Northampton Scouts and the Semilong Community Exchange.

Feedback from participating organisations has also been positive, with comments including: “It is good to have somewhere that broadcasts events”, “It is easy to use” and “It’s great, thank you so much!”

Cllr Keith Holland-Delamere, Chair of the Community Services Committee at Northampton Town Council, said: “We are delighted to continue our support for the NLive Radio Community Noticeboard for another 12 months.

“The response over the past year has shown just how valuable this opportunity is for local voluntary and community organisations. It is a simple way for groups to raise awareness of the fantastic work they are doing, while helping local people find out more about the activities, services and events available in Northampton.

“We have enjoyed working with NLive Radio on several community initiatives and events, and I’m pleased that we can continue this partnership and make this free promotional opportunity available to local groups.”

NLive Radio is Northampton’s local radio station, with a focus on celebrating and promoting community groups and organisations, as well as championing local businesses, events and communities.

Rebecca Steers, Station Manager at NLive Radio, said: “We’re delighted that Northampton Town Council is continuing to support the Community Noticeboard for another year.

“It has been fantastic to see so many different organisations making use of the opportunity over the past 12 months. We love helping local groups get their message out to the community, and this sponsorship means we can continue to offer this service free of charge.”

NLive Radio is based in Northampton town centre and broadcasts on 106.9FM across Northampton, online via its website, through its dedicated smartphone app and on smart speakers by asking them to ‘Launch N Live Radio’.

Community groups can register their interest in featuring on the NLive Radio Community Noticeboard by visiting nliveradio.com/noticeboard.
