Fertility Walk and Talk
Fertility struggles can feel really isolating, and sometimes it helps to be around people who just get it. A free Fertility Walk and Talk is heading to Abington Park in Northampton on Sunday 27th September, giving you the chance to get some fresh air and chat with others who are navigating similar pathways.
Fertility Walk and Talk at Abington Park
A fertility themed ‘walk and talk’ event is set to take place at Northampton’s Abington Park on Sunday, 27th September, giving people a chance to meet and chat to others navigating similar pathways.
The walk is being hosted by Northampton Town Council, and is part of the national Fertility Walk & Talk movement, founded by fertility podcaster Hannah Pearn and Katie Rollings, from the Fertility Action charity.
Everyone is welcome, whatever their pathway, identity, or relationship status. The event is free and places can be booked via Eventbrite.
Northampton Town Council has previously set up a ‘Wellness Walk’ trail in Abington Park, as part of Northampton in Bloom, featuring thought-provoking poetry quotes penned by local writer James McInerney.
Louise Hannam-Jones, Events and Projects Officer at the town council, who is leading the walk, said: “Infertility is a cruel condition that affects one in six couples. It can be a very lonely and difficult time to navigate.
“This Walk & Talk aims to be a friendly and approachable way for those struggling with fertility to come together and not to feel so alone. By combining Northampton in Bloom’s Wellness Walks with the last of the summer flowers in Abington Park, it is a chance to take some pressure off and chat in a safe and understanding group.”
The walk takes place between 3 – 4pm on Sunday, 27th September and the meeting point is outside the entrance of Abington Park Museum.
