Fairy & Wizard Trail at Castle Ashby Gardens
If you’re after one more magical outdoor adventure before autumn properly sets in, Castle Ashby Gardens has a brand new self-guided Fairy & Wizard Trail running through its Arboretum, with just a couple of weeks left to catch it.
The Fairy & Wizard Trail
Overview
A little magic has arrived in the gardens. Our enchanted Fairy and Wizard Trail invites children to explore the Arboretum at Castle Ashby Gardens and search for the secret doors ticket along the route. At each door, the fairies and wizards have left an object behind. Can you spot it, draw or write what it is on your trail map.
The trail is designed for curious little explorers and their grown-ups. It’s self guided, so families can take it at their own pace while enjoying the gardens and the seasonal planting along the way.
Collect a map upon your entrance to the gardens. Once you have completed the trail, you can head back to the Admissions Hut to claim your reward – sweets for children age 4 and over and an activity book for children age 3 and under.
Key Details
Dates & Times: The trail runs until 27th September 2026 during normal garden opening hours – excluding event periods.
Prices: Adults 16+ £11.50, Senior Concession 65 years+ £10.35, Child (3-15 years) £8.50, Toddler (1-2 years) £3.00 – Children will need to be supervised by an adult at all times.
Important Information: If you wish your infant (under 1 year) to take part and receive an activity book, please purchase a Toddler ticket.
Duration: Allow around one hour to do your trail but please feel free to spend the whole day in our gardens.
Location: All our fairies and wizards live in the Arboretum and all doors are visible from the main paths.
Pre-order a Fairy or Wizard Themed Picnic Box (at check out as an add on) to be collected from the Garden Kitchen which includes:
- A choice of sandwich – Ham, Cheese or Jam
- Pom Bear Crisps
- Fruit Bar
- Muffin
- Juice
