Autumn Artisan Fair
If you love pottering round a good market with the kids in tow, this one’s worth popping in the diary. Rockingham Castle is bringing back its Autumn Artisan Fair on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 September, 11am to 4pm, with two full days of local food, drink and handmade crafts set against one of the county’s most beautiful backdrops.
What’s on at the Autumn Artisan Fair
As you wander around the Castle grounds, you’ll get sweeping views across the Welland Valley and the chance to explore the formal gardens while you’re there. The fair itself is packed with stalls from talented local artisans, offering everything from delicious food and drink to beautifully handmade crafts. Whether you’re after a unique gift, something to treat yourself, or just fancy a proper browse, there’s a good mix of stallholders to discover.
It’s a nice way to support small, local businesses while having a wander somewhere genuinely lovely – and with the gardens and grounds to explore too, it makes for an easy half-day out rather than just a quick market visit.
Dogs are welcome
Good news if you’re bringing the four-legged member of the family – dogs are welcome at the Autumn Artisan Fair, as long as they’re kept on a lead and you clean up after them (bins are provided around the site). Assistance dogs aside, dogs aren’t permitted inside the Castle itself.
