Family Camping at West Lodge Farm Park, Desborough – A Proper Countryside Adventure
If you’ve been looking for a family adventure that feels a bit more special than a standard day out, this one is worth bookmarking. West Lodge Farm Park in Desborough is running their popular family camping weekends again this summer, and from everything I’ve heard about this place, it’s the kind of experience that kids genuinely talk about for weeks afterwards. We’re talking campfires, twilight walks, marshmallow toasting, a family quiz, a BBQ dinner, and a full farmhouse breakfast the next morning — all in one brilliant overnight stay. If that doesn’t sound like the perfect summer memory in the making, I’m not sure what does.
West Lodge Farm Park Camping Weekends 2026
West Lodge Rural Centre in Desborough, Northamptonshire is a family-run farm park that has been welcoming families for years. Set in beautiful Northamptonshire countryside, it’s already a brilliant day out — but the camping weekends take it up a level entirely.
Camping Dates for 2026
There are three camping weekends available this summer:
- 13th/14th June — SOLD OUT
- 20th/21st June
- 27th/28th June
With the first weekend already sold out, it’s safe to say these go fast — so if the dates work for your family, it’s worth getting booked in sooner rather than later.
What’s Included in the Camping Weekend?
This really is a proper all-inclusive experience. Here’s everything that’s included in your stay:
- Entry to the farm park on both Saturday and Sunday
- All the usual farm park activities across both days
- Saturday evening BBQ meal — home-reared meat cooked on the fire pit, plus a selection of salads (vegetarian options available)
- Guided twilight walk with one of the farmers
- A cosy campfire and marshmallow toasting
- A family quiz
- Sunday morning breakfast — cereals, a full farmhouse English breakfast, juice, tea and coffee
- Licensed pay bar on site
The guided twilight walk sounds particularly special — apparently the farm takes on a completely different atmosphere after dark, and having a farmer guide you around is the kind of thing you simply can’t replicate at a commercial campsite.
How Does Booking Work?
You can secure your pitch today with a £50 deposit, which is then deducted from your final balance. Each pitch accommodates one tent and up to seven people, with your car parked right alongside. If your group is larger than seven, or you need a second tent, you’ll need to book an additional pitch.
Full payment for everyone attending is due six weeks before your visit. West Lodge will email you seven weeks before to arrange this, at which point you can also share any dietary requirements. Please note the deposit is non-refundable, as these weekends are a sell-out event.
Ticket Prices Per Person
- Adults and children over 2 years: £40 per person
- Annual pass holders (over 2 years): £35 per person
- Toddlers aged 12–24 months: £20
- Babies aged 0–11 months: £5
Plus the £50 pitch deposit to secure your spot.
Good to Know Before You Book
A few practical things worth knowing before you book:
- This is a wild camping experience in a grass field — there are no shower facilities, dishwashing facilities or electrical hook-ups, but there are outdoor toilets, washbasins and running drinking water
- Pitches are approximately 8 metres wide with space for your tent and car
- Pitches are arranged around the edge of the camping field, with open space in the middle for ball games
- Well-behaved dogs are welcome
- Tents and small campervans are permitted; caravans, large motorhomes and trailer tents are not (due to ground conditions)
- This is a family event — adults must be accompanied by children
- No alcohol is to be brought on site; the licensed bar is available on the evening
- If you’d like to be pitched next to friends, make a note at checkout and they’ll do their best to accommodate
How to Book
You can book your pitch and reserve your spaces directly through the West Lodge camping booking page. Remember — only the 20th/21st and 27th/28th June dates are still available, so don’t hang about!
