Splash Safari at LEGOLAND Windsor: What You Need to Know Before You Go

If you’re planning a trip to LEGOLAND Windsor this summer, here’s a heads up that the water play area is reopening on 22nd May — which, handily, lines up perfectly with the May half term. If you’ve got little ones who love splashing about, this one is going straight on the must-do list. But trust me, you’ll want to read this before you go and pack accordingly, because they are absolutely going to get wet.

Here’s everything you need to know about Splash Safari and the wider water play area at LEGOLAND Windsor.

What is Splash Safari?

The water play area is home to Splash Safari, where toddlers can safely splash around amongst a menagerie of DUPLO themed animal friends — from lions and giraffes, to zebras and elephants — alongside a range of interactive water features. It’s located in DUPLO Valley within the park and is a brilliant stop if you’re visiting with younger children.

What about older kids?

High at the top of the Valley sits Drench Towers — described as the largest water play structure in the UK, especially designed for maximum soaking. Older kids will love dodging the oversized tipping brick and whizzing down the water slides, so it really does cater for a range of ages.

What do you need to pack?

Swimsuits are an absolute must — this is a proper water play area and the children are guaranteed to get wet. Swim nappies are also essential for younger guests.

Supervising adults need to be in swimwear too. All children under 6 must be supervised by someone aged 16 or over, who can supervise up to 4 children — but they must be wearing swimwear themselves to enter the area.

One thing worth checking before you pack: swimwear with exposed zippers, buckles, rivets or metal ornamentation isn’t permitted.

Is it always open?

The water play area reopens on 22nd May 2026 — so if you’re planning a May half term trip, the timing couldn’t be better. Do bear in mind that during extreme weather conditions such as thunder, lightning and high winds, the attraction may need to close on the day.
