Utterly Revolting Science Show at Wicksteed Park (Feb 2026) – Half Term Fun for Kids
Utterly Revolting Science Show is coming to Wicksteed Park (and yes… there’s a “world’s loudest fart” attempt)
If your kids find farts and burps absolutely hilarious (and honestly… whose don’t?), you might want to pop this one in the half-term diary.
TV presenter and award-winning author Stefan Gates is bringing his brand-new Utterly Revolting Science Show to Wicksteed Park next month — and the show includes a very silly (and very loud) audience attempt to create the World’s Loudest Ever Fart.
It’s basically a fast, funny, slightly disgusting science lesson… the kind kids actually pay attention to!

What is the Utterly Revolting Science Show?
This is a comedy science show that takes kids on a “journey through the human body” using:
- Burp biology
- Fart physics
- Outrageous edible chemistry
- And lots of big, noisy, gross (but clever) demonstrations
Stefan Gates has appeared in shows including Food Factory (BBC One), Gastronuts (CBBC), Incredible Edibles (CBBC) and Full on Food (BBC Two).
The “World’s Loudest Ever Fart” attempt (don’t worry… it’s not real!)
Wicksteed Park is planning a World’s Loudest Ever Fart moment created by the audience — using:
- Whoopie cushions
- Armpit guffs
- Raspberries (the down-and-dirty kind)
It’s all about teamwork, sound, and “fart acoustics” (I can’t believe I just typed that), and it’s designed to get kids laughing and learning.
It’s followed by something equally dramatic: a World’s Loudest Mechanical Burp Machine, which is a (horribly noisy) example of fluid dynamics.
Is it suitable for families?
If your children are primary-school age (and especially if they’re at the “toilet humour is the peak of comedy” stage), this one should be right up their street.
Parent note: it’s loud, energetic and very silly — so if you’ve got a noise-sensitive child, it might be worth bringing ear defenders just in case.

Wicksteed Park: a little bit of background
Wicksteed Park is a huge 281-acre estate with 147 acres of parkland, plus rides and attractions for all ages. It opened in 1921, created by Charles Wicksteed, who wanted to inspire play as a way to improve families’ health and wellbeing.
It’s also been praised by VisitEngland, which awarded the park 84% in an assessment, describing it as a memorable family day out.
